We went to check our fruity mountain, but to our utmost horror, we saw some woodpeckers had been damaging our poor apple trees!
These are very old trees and they don’t bear a lot of fruit anymore, but still, we don’t want the birds to return and cause any more harm and damage.
Below you see an apple tree intertwined with a peach tree. We didn’t harvest a single peach last year. I hope this year we’ll be luckier!
Tijs had the brilliant idea to hang old CDs on the trees, to prevent the birds from coming back. The reflection from the CDs will be sufficient to scare them off.
