All Saints

We celebrated “All Saints Day” on the first of November. Traditionally, my mother takes us to the cemetary and we stop by every grave to greet our loved ones.

Now that we live in Hungary, visiting their graves is impossible, but Tijs and I made our own new tradition. We went outside and burned some Chinese incense sticks for our deceased friends and family members. It was a beautiful and sunny autumn day. We sat quietly for a couple of moments, just staring at the smoke. We told each other some stories and shared memories about the people we lost along the road.

It was so heartwarming to remember our loved ones like this. We always carry their love and presence in our hearts, where ever we go.
